New signing Robert Milsom has said the chance to play regular first-team football was behind his decision to join Southend on-loan.
The Fulham midfielder made his debut for the Blues in the 2-1 defeat to Oldham on Saturday.
The 21-year-old told BBC Essex: "It's frustrating being at a club but not really playing, you're travelling but not getting to play games.
"So I'm really happy to be here and I just want to do my best for the club."

"I've been training with the [Fulham] first-team week-in, week-out and I learn a lot from players like Danny Murphy," he said.
"But every player needs games and coming here is a great experience for me."
