Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws believes striker Akpo Sodje can become a key player at Hillsborough.
Laws signed Sodje from Port Vale in August, but the 27-year-old only recently scored his first Owls goals.
"I felt for Sodje when he first came here. This is a big club and it's his big chance," Laws told BBC Sport.
I was desperate for him to get his first goal. You could see his game change overnight when he eventually did. He's now a different animal."
Sodje scored twice in Wednesday's recent 5-0 home win over Southampton, and has convinced Laws he has now adjusted to life at Championship level.
"The fact that he joined a team that was low in confidence didn't help his game," Laws said.
"He is now showing belief, and paying back the faith we had in him."
