Murty is yet to feature for Reading this season due to injury
Injured Reading captain Graeme Murty is satisfied with his side's start to their Championship campaign.
Consecutive clean sheets mean that the Royals are unbeaten after two games and lying in fifth place in the table.
He told BBC Radio Berkshire: "You'd take an unbeaten start to the season as key, and we've managed to do that.
"Marcus [Hahnemann] is delighted, and the defence are saying it's just reward for a lot of hard work they put in over the summer."
"When you look at the lads, their physical levels and the determination they've showed so far to keep clean sheets, I think it augurs well for the rest of the season, no matter who we're playing against.
"We've got a big game coming Saturday [Charlton away], and I've always said one result, two results, is not enough; you have to keep piling it on and be consistent the whole way through the season.
"Hopefully we can take this good start and push on on Saturday, because that's what we have to do."
