Portsmouth boss Tony Adams has assured Pompey fans he will not be forced to sell players in January after the club was put up for sale.
Owner Alexandre Gaydamak has announced he is looking to sell the club because of other commitments.
"If a ridiculous offer comes in, I'll accept it to be honest, but he has not said get rid of anyone," said Adams.
"It will be my decision, that is the guarantee he has given me. I might add one or two players but that's it."
Gaydamak, who became co-owner of Portsmouth in January 2006, has insisted he will not sell to anyone without a guarantee they will commit to funding a new stadium and training ground.
And Adams is satisfied with the assurances he has been given by the Franco-Russian businessman.
"In terms of the club being up for sale, we just wanted to be open and honest with everyone," added Adams. "There are a lot of football clubs up for sale.
"The owner said he can't give the time and energy needed. He said he doesn't have to sell it today and it is not going to be tomorrow. It will not be until the right people with the right values come along.
"Am I under pressure to sell players in January? He said nothing changes with that. He has been supportive. I couldn't ask for better people to work for and I am just not saying that."
