Port Vale will be 10th club MacKenzie has played for
Notts County midfielder Neil MacKenzie says he is delighted to have joined Port Vale on loan.
The 32-year-old joined the Valiants on a month-long deal on Thursday, having featured only four times for the Magpies this season.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "You want to be involved and it got to the stage where there was no chance of that.
"I was desperate to get away, not to just any club, but as soon as Vale were interested it was an easy decision."
MacKenzie began his career with the Valiants' local rivals Stoke City, making 45 appearances for the Potters before joining Cambridge United in 1999.
He arrives at Vale Park having spent a month on loan with Blue Square Premier side Kidderminster Harriers earlier this season, making four appearances and scoring once.
"There's a lot of young players with a lot of ability here, but experience counts for a lot at this level," said MacKenzie.
"Hopefully that's where I can help out. I'm fit and raring to go."
