Danny Allsopp's loan move to Luton has been scrapped after the Notts County man was injured in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Mansfield.

Hatters boss Joe Kinnear had hoped to land the centre-forward ahead of the weekend's trip to Colchester United.

But the 25-year-old Allsopp could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after damaging a hamstring just 10 minutes into the Division Two match at Field Mill.

"We've got a big problem with Danny," Magpies manager Billy Dearden confirmed.

"We don't know how long he will be out for. Nicky Fenton is also injured with a dead leg, but Danny's injury is far more serious."

Kinnear now says he is lining up a loan swoop for an unnamed First Division player.

Meanwhile, Dearden has reported that Michael Brough (thigh) suffered no reaction after his run out against the Stags.

Brough replaced Paul Bolland after 72 minutes and has since linked up with the Wales Under-20s squad ahead of their friendly with South Korea, in Cardiff.
