Mansfield Town striker Mark Stallard says they have work to do, despite their great start to the season.

The Stags are second in the Blue Square Premier after two wins and a draw, despite having an almost entirely new-look squad at Field Mill.

Stallard told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We've only had a week of the season. We're not getting carried away.

"Seven points out of nine is a good start but we've got to build on it and make sure we keep improving."

Stallard also stressed the importance of putting the hours in on the training pitch.

"We've got to make sure we put a lot of work in and the boss won't let us get away without doing that," he said. "He'll work us hard and he'll make sure we keep our standards high."
