Beevers taking big risk - Jackson

Lee Beevers
Beevers is Lincoln's longest-serving player, having joined in February 2005

Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson has said he feels Lee Beevers is taking a gamble by not signing a new contract.

Welsh defender Beevers, who has a history of shoulder problems, is still in talks with the Imps over a new deal.

Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "If, on the last day of the season, he goes over on his shoulder he could be out for months.

"When I was a player I went for security and guaranteed contracts. Lee's taking a big risk at the moment."

Beevers is one of three players, along with Dany N'Guessan and Adrian Patulea, who have rejected the contracts initially offered to them by the club.
