McAllister regrets missed chances

Leeds United manager Gary McAllister has said his side failed to take their chances in Friday's 1-1 draw with Northampton in the FA Cup first round.

Andy Robinson's penalty earned Leeds a replay after Town, who had Giles Coke sent off on 26 minutes, had been given the lead by Scott McGleish.

McAllister told BBC Radio Leeds: "It's a missed opportunity.

"The way to defeat ten men is to get the ball wide, we did that but were let down by the final ball into the box."

Leeds now face three games in the space of eight days, starting with a trip to Derby County in the fourth round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday.

They then meet Huddersfield at Elland Road on Saturday before travelling to Sixfields to face Northampton in the FA Cup first round replay on Tuesday, 18 November.

"I'm disappointed we didn't go through but we're still in the FA Cup, we're still in the Carling Cup and we're near the top of the league," said McAllister.

"The fortunate thing is that we have got a big squad and we can cope so there are no excuses - we've just got to get on with it."
