Ebbsfleet's FA Trophy semi-final first leg against Aldershot will kick off at 1200 GMT on Saturday instead of 1500 because of police fears of trouble.
The move could affect the crowd for one of the Fleet's biggest games in years.
There is no history of trouble between the two clubs but police intelligence suggested there could be problems.
Fleet's acting chairman Brian Kilcullen told BBC Radio Kent: "We did strongly push to keep it at three o'clock, but the police said it must be 12."

Ebbsfleet had already put up posters in Northfleet to advertise the game at Stonebridge Road at its initial kick-off time.
Kilcullen added: "It will cost us time and money getting out the message about the change, but we've a good relationship with the police and we have to go with their advice.

The winner of the two legged semi-final will play either York or Torquay at Wembley in the final on 10 May.
