Gravesend and Northfleet have named Liam Daish as their new manager.
Daish beat off three other strong candidates and replaces Andy Ford, who resigned a fortnight ago after eight years in charge.
"I put my case across, was honest in what I felt, and that's what I think won it for me. I'm enthusiastic," Daish told BBC Radio Kent.
"I can't wait to get my teeth into it, and I'm looking forward to it," added the former Republic of Ireland player.
Daish has previous non-league managerial experience at Havant & Waterlooville, where he was co-manager with Mick Jenkins.
Gravesend chairman Brian Kilcullen said: "You need to meet people, but once you meet him he inspires a lot of confidence in you.
"He's very much a leader with a great football background and a strong personality."
