Dowie senior safe in Palace role
Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan says Bob Dowie's job as director of football is secure, despite the appointment of Peter Taylor as manager.

Dowie, whose younger brother Iain left his job as Palace boss in May, worked with Taylor at Hendon in the 1980s.

"Bob's position has always been director of football and he works for me," Jordan told the club's website.

"He has been very influential in some of the decision-making and we have a very good relationship."
