Kevin McNaughton joined Cardiff City from Aberdeen in 2006
Cardiff City defender Kevin McNaughton will miss the start of the Championship season after damaging ankle ligaments.
And Bluebirds boss Dave Jones has injury concerns over captain Joe Ledley and striker Jay Bothroyd.
Wales midfielder Ledley hobbled off with an ankle injury in Cardiff's 2-0 friendly defeat to Valencia on Saturday while Bothroyd suffered a knee injury.
Both are doubts for Cardiff ahead of their opening league fixture against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
McNaughton injured his ankle in Cardiff's pre-season friendly draw with Celtic last month where ligaments detached from his ankle.
The Scottish full-back will be out for up to eight weeks but Jones hopes that 26-year-old McNaughton will be back within three to four weeks.
In Joe's case, we just brought him off as a precaution

Ledley, meanwhile, was replaced by Darcy Blake as a "precaution" in the 89th minute of Saturday's 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Spanish giants Valencia.
While Bothroyd's knee injury looks more serious as he was forced off half way through the first half to be replaced by Ross McCormack.
"Jay has tweaked his knee and we'll keep an eye on that this week," confirmed Jones.
"And in Joe's case we just brought him off as a precaution. I don't know how it is, we just got him off as it is pointless leaving him on when there's only a few minutes to go."
Pivotal midfielder Ledley, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League, and Bothroyd are two of Cardiff's most important and consistent players last season as the Bluebirds narrowly missed out on a play-off place.
