Cardiff have left the numbers eight and nine blank in their squad list after announcing the shirt numbers for next season in the Championship.
The Bluebirds are chasing two strikers after losing out on Robbie Fowler and Marcus Bent at the last minute.
Peter Enckelman is the number one, with new goalkeeper Tom Heaton number 13, but it is thought that the club have yet to decide who will be first choice.
New signing Ross McCormack is number 44, by his own request.
