Potter played 50 league and cup matches for the U's last season
Cambridge United goalkeeper Danny Potter has said he believes the arrival of Gary Brabin as manager heralds exciting times at the Abbey Stadium.
Potter denied Brabin's lack of experience would work against him in the Blue Square Premier next season.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "If you've got the passion and drive to want to achieve things, that counts for more than experience.
"I've played against him and he was whole hearted and wanted to win."
Potter added: "If he can bring that [winning mentality] in and install it in the dressing room it will be fantastic.
"I think we'll move on, we've got to, and as long as we can stop thinking about the past and focus on the future we're in a position to have another good season."
With a number of players leaving Cambridge since the end of the season Potter insisted he would be staying at the club.
"There's no way I want to leave, I want to be here and it looks like it's going to be exciting times.
"I've got ambition and as long as the club look like they're going to share my ambition, I don't see any reason why I should be leaving.
"They've installed someone who I feel has got that ambition," he added.
