Cambridge United have offered star striker Robbie Simpson a new contract.
Simpson, 22, hit 17 goals last season after joining from Cambridge City and is mulling over a deal which would make him their highest-paid player.
Boss Jimmy Quinn said: "There's been talk about different clubs being interested, but we've made an improved offer and we're doing what we can.
"He's a great lad and everyone thinks the world of him and wants him to stay. But it's his decision."
