Burton may miss Stride
Burton Albion captain Darren Stride could miss the club's Nationwide Conference bow after dislocating a shoulder.

The long-serving midfielder was injured during a pre-season friendly against Wolves.

It is not yet known for how long the 26-year-old England semi-professional international will be out of action.

But he is a doubtful starter for the Brewers' opening game at home to Scarborough on 17 August.

Stride has played almost 300 games for the club and was Albion's joint top-scorer last season as they won the UniBond League to take their place in the Conference.

Burton player-manager Nigel Clough may resume his playing partnership with former Liverpool team-mate Mark Walters this season.

Walters, 38, without a club since leaving Bristol Rovers this summer, played for Albion in the goalless draw with Wolves.
