And, although his bigger ambitions may be limited until the summer, Kean is still hoping to add to his squad in the form of 22-year-old Argentine playmaker Mauro Formica, who plays for Newell's Old Boys, before the transfer window closes on 31 January.
"Formica would be someone we are interested in bringing to the club. That could be something that happens before the window closes," added Kean.
"He is a fantastic talent, attacking player - a little bit like a young [Gabriel] Batistuta.
"He has great technical ability, a typical Argentine with a bit of fight and devilment in him.
"This guy can score goals and play last passes and create a goal out of nothing."
However, the Rovers boss was quick to play down any link with former Argentina international Juan Roman Riquelme, while also stating a move for Birmingham midfielder Sebastian Larsson, who will be out of contract in the summer, had broken down.
"Riquelme has probably been offered to all sorts of clubs but he is not one that will be coming," said Kean.
He added: "We put a bid in [for Larsson] but unfortunately it wasn't accepted.
"We were disappointed because we thought the bid was realistic considering how long he had on his contract.
"We put in a final offer and that doesn't seem to be enough so maybe that one will fizzle out."
