Birmingham City have signed former Tottenham, Newcastle and Republic of Ireland defender Stephen Carr.
Carr, 32, retired in December, but has now agreed a one-month deal with Blues after being on trial with the club.
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish told the club's website: "We've been looking to strengthen the full-back position and Stephen brings great experience.
"He hasn't played for a while but there's no doubt he is a quality player once he is fully match fit."
Dublin-born Carr came through the ranks at Tottenham and went on to play 270 senior matches for Spurs between 1993 and 2004.
He signed for Newcastle in a £2m deal and made 107 appearances for the St James' Park club over the following four years.
