Brentford boss Martin Allen believes striker DJ Campbell will prosper in the top-flight with Birmingham City after his surprise £500,000 transfer.
Birmingham's move for the 24-year-old Campbell raised eyebrows, given he had only played 28 times for Brentford.
Allen told BBC Sport: "He is quick as well as being an excellent finisher.
"He has a tremendous work rate and has massive self-belief. He has no fear and I think he will do very well - he just needs to be given an opportunity."
Campbell came to prominence during Yeading's FA Cup run last season and joined Brentford from the non-league side for £5,000 in June 2005.
The striker's surprise transfer to Birmingham came just three days after his two goals helped Brentford beat Sunderland 2-1 to reach the FA Cup fifth round.
Campbell scored 83 goals in 109 appearances for Yeading before moving to Griffin Park last summer and has been on target 12 times for Brentford this season.
The striker has joined Birmingham on a three-and-a-half year deal with his fee potentially rising to £1m.
