Laursen has given up playing for Denmark to focus on club football
Aston Villa captain Martin Laursen is set to make his comeback from injury at Manchester United on 5 April.
The 31-year-old defender has not played since undergoing surgery on his right knee after the 2-1 victory at home to West Brom on 10 January.
Villa manager Martin O'Neill said: "He is making good progress at the moment and he is deadly keen to play again."
Laursen retired from international football with Denmark in January to try to prolong his club career.
O'Neill said: "After the Liverpool game [on 22 March], he has got that extra fortnight to get ready because he no longer plays international football so you are probably looking at the Manchester United game.
"Everyone knows how well he has done for us during the past couple of seasons and it will be good to have as many players available as possible for the run-in."
Laursen originally picked up the injury against West Ham on 20 December and returned to action against West Brom.
But the problem was worse than first feared and it was decided he should be operated on.
