Delfouneso could not inspire Villa's youngsters to victory over Arsenal
Aston Villa bowed out of the FA Youth Cup at the third round stage, beaten 3-2 by Arsenal at Villa Park.
Striker James Collins had twice put the home side in front, first capitalising on a weak punch, then drilling home his second from 15 yards out.
But Arsenal battled back with a pair of goals from Rhys Murphy, before Jay Thomas secured victory on 80 minutes.
Nathan Delfouneso was in the Villa side, a week after his first senior goal against Zilina in the Uefa Cup.
The striker is set to return to the first-team squad for Saturday's Premier League fixture at home to Bolton as cover for England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor.
