The Republic of Ireland midfielder turned down a move back to the Premiership with the Midlands club this week.

Now Holland wants to look forward to Ipswich's Division One game at Millwall on Saturday and put talk of a switch behind him.

"Everyone knows how happy I am at the club and as far as I'm concerned that is the end of the matter unless circumstances change.

"I am looking forward to playing againswt Millwall and Bradford over the next few days and continuing our bid to go straight back up to the Premiership."

Personal issues

Holland's agent Jonathan Barnett, who had been in discussions with Villa, added: "He is obviously flattered to be wanted by Aston Villa but he is very happy at Ipswich and he has no desire to leave.

"He is looking forward to playing for the club this weekend."

Villa insist they have not given up on the move but admit Holland's desire to remain with his family in Suffolk is likely to scupper any move.

The Premiership club's deputy chief executive Mark Ansell said: "We will be talking again with his agent but at this stage Matt's considerations are based around personal issues outside of football rather than financial matters."
