Rushden and Diamonds came from behind to condemn Darlington to their first away defeat of the season.
Michael Smith's neat ball allowed Daniel Powell to slot in from six yards and give the Quakers the lead at the half-time interval.
But the hosts pulled themselves back into the game and netted twice in six second-half minutes.
Rene Howe drew the hosts level with his 20-yard strike before Aaron O'Conner fired home to clinch the win.
Rushden manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton:
"It was very satisfying and thoroughly deserved, I thought.

"It was disappointing to go behind after starting well and taking the game to Darlington.
"We had to work hard to get back in the game and I'm delighted for the players because it would have been easy to crumble."
