Fisher has had work experience at several local teams
Alex Fisher's football education is progressing well, according to Oxford City manager Justin Merritt.
The Oxford United striker, 18, has been on a work-experience deal at Court Place Farm and Merritt has been impressed with what he has seen.
"Alex is very good player, and a nice lad. He has come in and done very well," Merritt told BBC Oxford.
"He's got a bit of pace, a good touch and he is clearly an intelligent footballer," he added.
Fisher's lack of physical strength is something that has been highlighted as a weakness in his game, but Merritt believes that he still has enough talent to go forward in the game.
"Whilst he isn't necessarily the strongest he still has a lot of attributes that get him out of situations. Certainly the experience will do him good as he is up against a lot of different types of players in the Southern League," he said.
The teenager has scored two goals in 14 Blue Square Premier appearances for United.
