Truro City laid down their credentials as title contenders in the Southern League's Division One South and West after winning 4-3 at Didcot Town.
Andy Watkins gave City a seventh minute lead and Tom Smith made it 2-0 before Marcus Martin was sent off just after the half hour mark.
Didcot hit back to level before Scott Walker and Watkins made it 4-2.
Despite a last-minute Didcot goal, City held on to take an important win and go clear in second position.
"Full credit to our lads, we scored another two goals in the second half which was a thoroughly deserved victory," boss Sean McCarthy told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"We missed a host of chances also, but I'm delighted with the three points."
