Graeme Hick has ended speculation about his future and signed for the 2007 season with Worcestershire.
The former England batsman, 40, was out of contract at the end of the season and contemplated a move to Derbyshire.
Hick is in his 23rd campaign at New Road and in June reached his 100th first-class century for the county.
He said: "I am delighted to have resolved the situation. My heart has always been with Worcestershire and I look forward to the next 12 months."
Worcestershire chairman John Elliott called Hick a legend and added: "This is very good news for all our members and supporters and will end any speculation there might have been about his immediate future."
