Somerset fast bowler Andy Caddick says he can do a job for England, even after major back surgery at the age of 39.
"There's a lot said about the England bowlers at the moment," he told BBC Somerset. "That's what drives me on.
"If I can keep pushing these England bowlers to perform harder, perform better and keep an old feller like me off their backs then that's my intent.
"The day I retire from Somerset will be the day I retire from England. If I'm required, I will definitely be there."
Caddick maintains that age is no barrier to performing at the highest level.
"If there's a little gap in the bowling attack that needs me, all being well, you never know," he said.
You've just got to get stuck in and do your job

"It's one of those things. I was very surprised that I didn't get a Test recall last year, but as long as you're performing at the height of your ability, you never say never."
Somerset's vice-captain feels he is close to full fitness after undergoing surgery in the close season to cure a bulging spinal disc, and he is looking forward to the challenge of being competitive in the first division of the County Championship.
"You sit there and think 'what the hell are you doing, why are you going through it again?' but I enjoy it.
"It's going to be a good challenge this year, I think the games will go to the wire a lot more, but I'm confident our side is capable of winning those matches.
"A team's a team, it doesn't matter who's at the crease or who you're batting or bowling against.
"At the end of the day you've just got to get stuck in and do your job and I think our side is good enough to do that."
