Lancashire captain Stuart Law has warned cricket bosses he will fight attempts to ban him or his county from joining a Champions League tournament.
The finalists of the Twenty20 Cup will qualify for the new competition but players like Law who were in the Indian Cricket League could be ineligible.
Law told BBC Radio Manchester: "If they try to stop me, I will put up a fight.
"We are not political pawns and we are just doing something that we want to do," he added.
"We signed a contract with the ICL and have gone down a road of playing cricket and helping the youth of India to get exposed to more ideas and understanding of the game than they were in their own domestic competition."
