Greenidge ha limited opportunities for Gloucestershire
|
Seamer Carl Greenidge has left Gloucestershire with immediate effect after being released from his contract.
The 30-year-old had already been told he would not be offered a new deal.
Chief executive Tom Richardson told the club's website: "We talked with Carl and it was unlikely that he would play much in the next couple of months.
"Carl is a popular player with both the squad and the off-the-field team and he will be missed. We wish him every success," he added.
Greenidge has failed to take a wicket in his four competitive first-team matches this season.
The son of former West Indian opener Gordon Greenidge moved to Nevil Road in 2004 after previous stints at Surrey and Northamptonshire.
