Shakib Al Hasan hit an unbeaten 92 to steer Bangladesh to a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the one-day international tri-series in Mirpur.
Bangladesh dismissed Sri Lanka for 147 in 30.3 overs and needed just 23.5 overs in reply to secure victory in a match reduced to 31 overs per side.
Opener Sanath Jayasuriya top-scored for Sri Lanka, posting 54 from 64 balls.
Bangladesh's bonus point means they overhauled Zimbabwe and will play Sri Lanka again in Friday's final.
Nineteen-year-old seamer Rubel Hossain took 4-33 on debut for Bangladesh and justified his skipper Mohammad Ashraful's decision to send Sri Lanka in to bat after winning the toss.
"The win is very special to all of us. Whatever we wanted to do today, it clicked," said Ashraful.
After the start was delayed by more than three hours by fog, Sri Lanka fell apart after Jayasuriya's 68th one-day international half century, losing their last five wickets for just 23 runs.
In reply, both Bangladesh openers Junaid Siddique and Tamim Iqbal were run out, while Thilan Thushara had Mushfiqur Rahim caught behind.
However, Shakib and Ashraful (26) put on 91 runs for the fourth wicket before Shakib and Naeem Islam reached the winning target.
"It is one of the best innings I have ever seen," Ashraful asaid of Shakib's match-winning contribution.
