The International Cricket Council will pick a host for the Cricket World Cup 2011 at some stage next year.
Australia were seen as front-runners to stage the game's showpiece tournament.
But recent reports suggest a push has come from the subcontinent's four cricketing nations - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
And there is a theory that the ICC would happily ditch the unofficial rotation policy which would give the tournament to Australia.
