Pakistan mob Shakeel Abassi after his goal in extra-time

England men's hockey team will face Malaysia in a battle for bronze after losing their semi-final to a heartbreaking extra-time 'golden goal'.
Shakeel Abassi put Pakistan ahead on 53 minutes, but with just under three minutes to go, Matt Daly rifled home an equaliser from a penalty corner.
Then with three minutes of extra-time played, Abassi supplied a clinical finish to put his side into the final.
Olympic champions Australia thrashed Malaysia 6-0 in the other semi-final.
An untidy first half began with England conceding a penalty corner when the ball became trapped under goalkeeper Jon Ebsworth, but Pakistan's routine was not up to scratch.
England then forced two penalty corners of their own, but Simon Mantell's effort was deflected wide by team-mate Ben Hawes on the first and James Tindall had his shot charged down for the second.
Pakistan had a goal by Abassi ruled out because the ball had bounced off the player's foot, and shortly afterwards Tariq Aziz saw his deflection rebound off the underside of the crossbar.
England had a claim for a penalty stroke two minutes before the interval, when Hawes' flick from a short corner hit Mohammed Imran's foot in front of goal.
But Australian umpire David Gentles failed to spot the infringement.
After the break Simon Mantell almost broke the deadlock with a delicate chip over Ahmed, but his effort drifted narrowly wide.
Midway through the second-half, Pakistan scored the goal England had been fearing when Abassi clipped a first-time shot past Ebsworth.
Daly saved the match with a powerful drag flick from a penalty corner, but Pakistan were not to be denied, as Abassi clipped home a shot at the near post soon after the re-start.
