Frank Bruno looked in good health on Monday evening as he made his first public appearance after his stay in hospital suffering from mental health problems
Bruno, seen here in September just before he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act, had kept up his jovial public front despite the fact he was was sliding into increasingly erratic behaviour and lonely depression
But after two months out of the limelight, Bruno chose to make his first public appearance back in a boxing ring - at York Hall in London's east end, where he led out the British amateur boxing team against the USA
Former US opponent (left) Tim Witherspoon was among those wishing Bruno well at an emotional return to the ring, where Bruno has always felt at his most comfortable
Bruno, who's heartfelt appearance on ITV's Tonight with Trevor McDonald was also screened on Monday night, says he was amazed at the public's support since his breakdown and now wanted to help fight the stigma surrounding mental illness
