CARL FROCH V JEAN PASCAL - WBC SUPER-MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE Venue: Trent FM Arena, Nottingham Date: Saturday, 6 December Coverage: Live commentary on BBC Radio Nottingham and on ITV1 from 2245 BST
Nottingham boxer Carl Froch is hoping to move into a different class by taking the vacant WBC super-middleweight title on Saturday.
Froch and Canadian Jean Pascal weighed in at the Victoria shopping centre on Friday afternoon ahead of the fight at the Nottingham Arena.
Froch told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Everything has gone well with all the training and preparation.
"I'm getting a bit nervous now which will sharpen me up for the night."
He added: "I'm looking at making history in Nottingham, so it's going to be a massive occasion and the atmosphere will be electric."
The Gedling-born boxer said he will have the upper hand physically on the night.
"The longer the fight goes the more it will come into my territory.
Froch's promoter Mick Hennessy added: "This is as big as it gets in boxing.
"It is such a big occasion for him and Nottingham, it's an historic weekend.
"Nottingham's never had a genuine world champion, it's had some great fighters over the years but it's certainly never had a WBC champion.
"He has to be a little bit nervous, it's the nature of the business and he wouldn't perform at his best unless he was nervous."
You can hear live commentary of Froch's world-title fight on BBC Radio Nottingham on Saturday, 6 December at 2300 GMT.
There will also be a preview of the fight from 1800 GMT on Friday, 5 December, which will also be available online at bbc.co.uk/nottingham.
