Cueto has played his entire professional career at Sale

Sale winger Mark Cueto has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at Edgeley Park until 2013.

The 29-year-old, who joined Sale from Altrincham Kersal in 2000, will become Sale's longest-serving player by the time he comes to the end of the deal.

Cueto, who has 33 caps for England, has scored 67 tries in 137 games for Sale.

"I have played all my professional rugby at Sale Sharks and want to finish my career here too," he told Sale's official website.

"I have some great times and want to help [coaches] Kingsley Jones and Jason Robinson to bring more trophies to the club."

Cueto has won three trophies as a Sale player, the 2006 Guinness Premiership and the European Challenge Cup in 2002 and 2005. He is also the Premiership's second-highest try scorer, needing just nine more scores to overtake his former Sale team-mate Steve Hanley.

Cueto, who scored two tries on his England debut against Canada in 2004 and shares the record for scoring tries in eight consecutive Premiership games, is perhaps best known for a try that never was.

In the 2007 World Cup final, he crossed in the corner against South Africa, but the score was ruled out, with TV official Stuart Dickinson ruling his foot had gone into touch.

Since then, Cueto has played in England's last eight Tests, including Saturday's 19-6 loss to New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Cueto, who comes from Workington in Cumbria, has spoken of his desire to help the victims of the recent floods.

"I saw the footage of Cumbria on television and all the landmarks I remember were completely under water," he said.

"I asked if there was anything we could do as a club and we agreed that a bucket collection at the game against London Wasps on Friday would raise some much-needed money and enhance the awareness about the flood victims' plight."
