Marconnet needs an operation on an ankle injury

France prop Sylvain Marconnet will miss the World Cup on home soil after failing to recover from injury, with Nicolas Mas taking his place.
The 31-year-old, who has won 71 caps, had surgery after breaking his leg in a skiing accident in March and has been told he will need another operation.
He said: "I'm very disappointed to not play in this World Cup in France.
"But I have to follow medical advice and have an operation quickly so I can be back again with my club."
He added: "I thank the sporting and medical staff of Les Bleus for having supported me in my bid to be fit for the competition."
France coach Bernard Laporte said he was "deeply disappointed" for the Stade Francais player.
"It's always unfortunate that a player is forced to withdraw from such a competition but it's one of the risks athletes have to live with," he said.
Marconnet needs surgery on his ankle after the pressure put on the joint by his broken tibia caused a stress fracture.
Mas won his 10th cap as a replacement in Saturday's 22-9 win over England.
