Ban dents Fallon title hopes
The champion jockey was stood down for two days after being found guilty of irresponsible riding during a race at Lingfield. But that triggered a further four-day ban, which had been suspended after Fallon's previous brush with the stewards.
The champion jockey was visibly upset by the stewards' decision. When asked if he would appeal against the decision he replied, "I don't even want to talk about it at the moment". And in response to whether his ban could affect his chances in the title race he said, "What prices are you giving my rivals now?" The ban is deferred for Group One racing so Fallon is still eligible to ride in the Breeders' Cup meeting or at Doncaster's Racing Post Trophy Day. But he will miss racing on 25 October and then from 28 October to 1 November. Fallon started the day 18 winners clear of his nearest rival, Richard Hughes but did pick up a double to bolster his lead.
