Ex-Scarborough defender Weaver is in his first season as player-boss
Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver was disappointed after his side replaced Redditch at the bottom of Blue Square North by losing 2-0 at Valley Stadium.
A goal in each half sealed Town's fate, although striker Trevor Benjamin missed a chance to equalise before half-time.
Weaver told BBC Radio York: "It was a big game for us, players had to stand up and be counted.
"Only a handful can take the club forward on today's performance. A lot of the others went missing."
We've got to hurt teams and I'm doing something about that with the personnel

Weaver was encouraged by full-backs Ben Chapman and Jon Maloney, and centre-backs Adam Nowakowski, Matt Bloomer and Craig James, of whom Maloney, Nowakowski and James are recent first-team recruits.
Elsewhere Weaver bemoaned: "The performance at times lacked personalities in the team.
"I don't expect midfielders to lose 50-50s and I expect forwards to have more spark than they've shown.
"They can do it in training when the pressure's off. It's not like they're going to be given a good hiding every time they misplace a pass."
Weaver has recruited a vast array of players in the last few weeks with many coming and going, and it looks as though that policy will continue in the short-term as he tries to assemble a competitive squad.
"It comes to a point where you're watching dragged shots and shots off target, lackadaisical efforts at times. Clueless. I've got to do something about it," he said.
"You can't keep encouraging lads to step up to this level. They're not going to, some of them.
"We've got to hurt teams and I'm doing something about that with the personnel."
