Chris Gayle is the coolest character in international cricket, with his loping stride, shades and gold chains, but electrifying with a bat in his hand.
He was magnificent in the recent Champions Trophy and hit three tons, with 17 fours and three sixes in the semi-final against South Africa to guide the Windies to their target with six overs to spare.
Also, he plays a key role in the field with slow bowling variations, is a reliable catcher and, as proved in a spirited contest with Australia, can belie his languid manner with some combative displays.
