All three went on Wales' summer tour to Argentina on a trial period, but they have now been given permanent positions until the end of next year's World Cup.

Ex-Wales flanker Phillips, 41, will be Clive Griffiths' successor as defence coach, combining the job with his position as head coach at Neath RFC.

McBryde will look after Wales' set-piece and Jenkins the kicking.

They join assistant Nigel Davies on national coach Gareth Jenkins' back-room staff.

The appointments mean Wales will be without any foreign coaching influence for the first time since 1998.

But Jenkins said: "It was not a conscious thing to appoint an all Welsh group as coaches, but it has just happened that way.

"At the outset I wanted to identify the right people and at the outset I had an open mind about the people I was looking to work with as coaches.

"The Argentina tour was a platform on which to work with Robin, Neil and Rowland and I was pleased with the response, commitment and professionalism shown by all three.

"I believe we have a good dynamic within the coaching structure, which is unique in that we have people who have just finished international rugby as well as more experienced coaches like myself Nigel and Rowland."

Phillips has claimed back-to-back Principality Premiership titles with Neath, and also led the semi-professional side to the Konica Minolta Cup final last season.

He took over the Welsh All Blacks in 2003 when Lyn Jones left to coach the newly formed Ospreys regional side, and was given a new three-year contract in May.

The St David's man - who also coached Wales Under-18 last season - won 10 caps for Wales from 1987-90 and spent most of his union playing career at Neath.

He signed for Warrington on 19 September, 1990, and enjoyed a highly successful rugby league career, representing Wales in the 13-man code.

Last September, former Wales and Lions hooker McBryde and ex-Wales and Lions fly-half Jenkins were appointed as skills coaches to groom the internationals of the future at the four Wales regional academies.

McBryde stepped up as Wales forwards coach for the tail-end of this year's Six Nations, in the reshuffle that followed Mike Ruddock's departure as head coach.
