Neath 46-8 Glasgow

Kevin James scored four of Neath's eight tries as the Welsh All Blacks moved up to third place behind Newport and Llanelli in the Welsh-Scottish League.

Glasgow, who beat Bridgend 21-16 at home in midweek, were 22-3 down at half-time despite starting with three of the players who helped Scotland beat Wales in the Lloyds TSB Six Nations the previous week.

They were full-back Glenn Metcalfe, number eight Jon Petrie and hooker Gordon Bulloch who scored both Scotland tries.

The Scots, whose only league win in Wales this season was at Swansea in September, had to wait till the 67th minute for their lone try by left wing Michael Bartlett.

Outside half Calvin Howarth kicked a 14th-minute penalty for Glasgow to cut the deficit to 5-3 for just 11 minutes.

James went over for three tries in the first half, adding his fourth in the 58th minute.

Glasgow, who lost 27-20 at home to Neath last month, were as ready as the Welsh to move the ball. But Neath's forwards were dominant and Glasgow repeatedly lost the ball.

Glasgow lock Steve Griffiths went off with an apparent neck injury in the third of four first-half stoppage time minutes but he was able to resume in the 51st minute.

Neath's other tries came from Barry Williams, Gareth Morris, Andrew Howells and Dave Tiueti while Lee Jarvis kicked three conversions.

Neath, who completed a double over Glasgow, are next away to Newport on Wednesday.
