Against Rotherham, we started with such an intensity and pace that they couldn't live with us

December is upon us and Christmas approaches. Some of the lads have written their wish lists and sent them off to the North Pole.

They do include the regular wish for an unlimited stash of extra-filled mince pies although the individual requests range from an extra two and a half inches of height, a head guard with a built in radio playing Beyonce Knowles on repeat and a seasonal supply of "notgetintheicebathwheneveryoulike" cards. As to which ones will come to fruition we shall find out on Boxing Day.

November has been a productive month for us. We have managed to pick up 25 points in the league, which is no mean feat.

Against Rotherham, we started with such an intensity and pace that they couldn't live with us. Everything just seemed to click; the offloads went to hand and the half breaks were finished off, culminating in a really enjoyable afternoon.

What was particularly pleasing was the fact that we scored in a number of different ways and did not just keep attacking the same place each time. On the negative side, Rotherham crossed our line three times, which is not something we are proud of and something we will need to address this week.

Doncaster will be a different task. Away games are always more of a challenge just because you are not in a familiar environment.

Added to that, Doncaster is always a tough place to go and they always seem to raise their game when they are at home. They scored 50 points against Bedford recently which shows that they are firing on all cylinders.

We will be making a trip up to Doncaster on Friday by plane in order to cut travelling time down. There are often a number of practical jokes that go on.

Though on a more serious note, if you'd like to hear a grown man portray giving birth then just reserve seat number 25A, which is the window seat next to Brett Sturgess. He is not a fan of flying.

As we are now onto December, the talk is of what advent calendars people have and more interestingly what is in them. They range from food treats to little presents but probably the most bizarre is a daily pack of fresh egg noodles.

Most people would see this as a tasty, convenient snack, however Sean Marsden seems to like wrapping the noodles around his legs in order to perceivably bulk them out.
