Ian Lougher secured a double by winning the Lightweight 250cc TT and Ultra-Lightweight 125cc TT races over two legs at the Billown course on Saturday. Lougher won the 125 event when a win and a second spot left him on 45 points with Roy Richardson second on 36 points and William Dunlop third overall on 29. The Welshman also took the 250 win by winning both legs, ending on 50 points, with Michael Dunlop second on 40. Barry Davidson was third in both races and took third overall with 32 points. Lougher won the first legs of both the 125cc and 250cc TT races in Castletown. Chris Palmer led for the first five laps of the 125 race but retired, to give Lougher victory by 14 seconds from Richardson and William Dunlop. Lougher and Palmer again battled it out at the front in the 250 event but Palmer retired again in that class. Lougher won by eight seconds from Michael Dunlop, with Davidson third and Andrew Neill fourth. This year's lightweight and ultra-lightweight races were being held over two legs, both of eight laps, with points awarded for top-15 finishes. Lougher broke the lap record on the seventh lap of the 125cc race, setting a new course best for the class at 96.05mph. James Ford, Nigel Moore and Jon Vincent made up the top six in that class. Palmer was again out of luck in the lightweight first leg but did have the consolation of a new lap record on lap five. Phil Harvey and Moore made up the top six leaderboard in that event. Race two in the 125s saw Palmer romp to a race win, with Lougher second, Richardson third and William Dunlop fourth. Lougher came home ahead of Michael Dunlop and Davidson in 250 race two after early leader William Dunlop retired. In the 1000cc Support race, Dungannon's John Burrows took the victory from Mark Parrett, Stephen Oates, Paul Dobbs and Paul Cranston. In the concurrently run 600cc event, Roy Richardson won from Mark Buckley and Si Fulton.
