Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves says Tottenham's star striker Dimitar Berbatov deserves his place in the PFA Premier League team of the year.
The 26-year-old Berbatov has been in stunning form since his £10.9m move from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
Hargreaves told BBC Sport: "This season Berbatov has been a breath of fresh air in English football, he just makes the game look so easy at times.
"I don't think Spurs realised how good he was. He can be really unbelievable."
Berbatov, who has scored 20 goals in his debut season for Spurs, was named in the team of the year at an awards ceremony in London on Sunday.

Hargreaves believes the Bulgarian has improved his game from his time in the Bundesliga.
He added: "I'm not surprised by how well he has done because he has always been a great footballer.
"He was impressive in Germany, but he never really showed his class on a consistent game-by-game basis.
"He always had one unbelievable match and then two or three where he would not show the same quality, so he has had to step it up.
"The transfer to Tottenham has been fantastic for him because he has been forced to take his game on to a completely different level."
