Bristol City's Gavin Williams targets first team spot

Bristol City midfielder Gavin Williams hopes his injury-time equaliser against boyhood team Cardiff City in the FA Cup can kick-start his season.

The 29-year-old has spent most of the season on the bench - his only start being the defeat by QPR at Christmas.

"It's been a frustrating season for me and hopefully that goal will help me get some games under my belt," Williams told BBC Radio Bristol.

Bristol City travel to Cardiff for the third round replay on 19 January.

Williams continued: "It's nice to get an equaliser as we've been on the receiving end of last-minute goals all season.

"I've been a Cardiff fan all my life but when you play against them you've got to do all you can for the club you're playing for at the time."
