Former WBC super- middleweight champion Nigel Benn has hailed Ricky Hatton as the future of British boxing.
Benn relied on powerful punching for his success but he insists WBC light-welterweight Hatton is a complete boxer destined for global glory.
"I have never seen anybody in this country more talented than Ricky Hatton," Benn told the News of the World newspaper.
"He has every shot in the book. I think he is a class act."
Hatton beat Ben Tackie on points to rack up the eleventh straight defence of his WBU title earlier this month.
Now the 25-year-old has his sights on a fight with American Sharmba Mitchell next year - a move which could open up the American markets to the Manchester boxer.
"You are nothing unless you can go over there and deal with the Americans," added Benn.
"Everybody loves Ricky and the Americans will as well when he gets there."
