Hull KR achieved a new club record victory with a 104-0 thumping of Lock Lane as all five Super League sides safely proceeded to the fourth round of the Challenge Cup following emphatic wins.

Hull FC swept aside newly reformed Salford 60-0 and St Helens hammered Workington Town 98-2.

Warrington Wolves avoided a scare by beating Sheffield Eagles 34-6, while Huddersfield Giants comfortably saw off Championship club Hunslet 52-6.

Holders Hull KR, who secured their first Challenge Cup triumph for 45 years in last year's final, ran in 18 tries against Lock Lane in their final match before they begin their Super League title defence at new boys York Knights on Thursday.

Hat-tricks from Jack Broadbent and Harvey Horne, as well as two tries apiece from Tom Davies and Jack Charles at Craven Park - with amateur club Lock Lane requesting to play their home fixture at the current treble winners - meant it was an easy night for Rovers in a one-way contest which also saw Rhyse Martin kick 16 goals.

The Robins' local rivals Hull FC, meanwhile, made a fast start at new-look Salford as Yusuf Aydin charged down a kick to dot down inside two minutes for the visitors.

By half-time, the lead reached 22-0 and the Black and Whites ran in another seven tries, with Jez Litten running in a hat-trick, as they strolled into the next round.

St Helens, under the stewardship of new boss Paul Rowley, scored a total of 17 tries in a very professional display.

They put 50 points on before the half-time hooter as half-back Tristan Sailor took centre stage, scoring a first-half hat-trick, before Kyle Feldt and Jack Welsby completed the same feat after the break.

Jackson Hastings added 38 points with two tries and 15 successful kicks, meaning he ended the match just two points shy of a club record of 40 points in one match set by Paul Loughlin 40 years ago.

Two tries from full-back Cai Taylor-Wray and four kicks from Marc Sneyd helped Warrington to a routine win against Sheffield Eagles.

Wolves led by 10 points at the break but stepped up a gear in the second period with tries from Albert Hopoate and substitute Tommy Rhodes sealing the win.

Huddersfield Giants also sidestepped a potential upset with a convincing victory at Championship club Hunslet.

New Giants signing Chris Patolo scored inside four minutes on his debut for the club as Giants ran in 10 tries in total as Tui Lolohea grabbed two.

Four more Super League sides are in round three action on Saturday, including Leeds at Widnes and Leigh at Crusaders, before the fourth round draw on Monday evening.
