Teenage all-rounder Archie Vaughan has signed a new deal with Somerset that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2028 season.
The 19-year-old son of former England Ashes-winning captain Michael broke into Somerset's first team in 2024 and was named England Under-19 captain during their tour of South Africa in January.
Vaughan, who has been part of Somerset's academy since 2020, has taken 40 wickets and scored 1,094 runs in 35 List A and first-class matches for the county during the past two seasons.
"I'm really excited and it means a lot to know that the club have confidence in me," Vaughan told the Somerset website., external
"I hope I can reward their faith with winning performances on the field.
I just want to keep doing what I'm doing, learning and improving all the time and hopefully taking my game to the next level.
"I want to get better in all aspects of my game, and I want to become a genuine all-rounder - that will give me the best chance of making an impact in every game."

Principally a batter, Vaughan caught the eye with his spin bowling when he claimed match figures of 11-140 as Somerset dramatically beat rivals Surrey at Taunton as the title race reached a thrilling conclusion in 2024.
With the bat he scored a career-best 109 not out in the One-Day Cup against Northamptonshire in August this summer, his first three-figure innings for Somerset.
Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry said: "Archie has demonstrated a significant amount of potential, alongside an outstanding attitude and work ethic.
"His hard work and desire to improve every day has been rewarded with first-team opportunities which he has embraced, and he's demonstrated his ability to positively impact games with both bat and ball in four-day and limited overs cricket."
