The gloves are on for the British Amateur Boxing Championships

This Saturday is the finals of the British Amateur Boxing Association Female Championships. In recent years, the number of women amateur boxers has risen dramatically, and there are now over five hundred women boxers registered in the UK. The Amateur Boxing Association recently appointed its first female development manager, Rebecca Black, and she joins Jane to talk about the participation of women in the sport as well as the obstacles which still put young women off the sport, including the fact that they often regard it as unfeminine. They are joined by Lynn Nead, a boxing coach and also Professor of Art History at Birkbeck College, London.
